INVESTIGATIVE DIVISION
Investigative Services of the Memphis Police Department is responsible for thoroughly reviewing the details surrounding every crime committed in Memphis. Investigative Services work closely with all branches of the Memphis Police Department and other law enforcement agencies to solve crime.
The personal crimes department oversees crime scene investigation, domestic violence, felony response, homicide, missing persons, sex crimes and juvenile abuse.
The property crimes department oversees economic crimes, pawn, scrap and seizures.
MPD’s Cold Case Unit, which was established in 1996, reviews, analyzes and investigates unsolved homicides with the hopes of solving cases, bringing justice to the perpetrators, and bringing closure to the victims’ loved ones.
