While only 5.01 square miles, the North Main Station area swells from a population of 26,000 to a daytime population of over 88,000 thousand people a day due to a large diverse workforce population. North Main Station is home to Beale Street–“Home of the Blues”, Bass Pro Shops, Mud Island, the Orpheum Theatre, the Cannon Center, the Fed-Ex Forum (Memphis Grizzlies), AutoZone Park (Memphis Redbirds), the National Civil Rights Museum located in the old Lorraine Motel, not to mention a host of fine restaurants and Historic hotels such as the Peabody.
